It is one of the most visited cities in France, a title deserved since the city has a very particular history and geography that makes it a superb city both culturally and visually. Once a Greek counter and then a Gallo-Roman city, the city was once the only maritime gateway in the States of Savoy. Nice was then part of the Piedmont Sardinia kingdom until 1860, so the Nice region is one of the last to have joined France. There is also a very Mediterranean culinary culture mainly inspired by Provence and Italy. You certainly know the famous salad of Nice (without potato attention) or the pan bagnat, but don’t worry you still have a lot of Nice specialties to discover.
